1959年 埼玉県生まれ。1982年 第52回装苑賞受賞。1983年 三宅デザイン事務所入社。1992年 第21回現代日本美術展準大賞受賞。1994年 パリコレクション初参加。1994年 第12回毎日ファッション大賞新人賞・資生堂奨励賞受賞。2001年 ベネチアビエンナーレ展出展。2004年 日本建築・美術展出展 イスラエル美術館。2005年 MoMAニューヨーク近代美術館SAFE DESIGN TAKES ON RISK出展。2007年 21_21DESIGN SIGHTチョコレート展、THISPLAY展ディレクション出展。同年 妄想オーダーモード作品集発売及びフリーペーパー「FINAL TIMES」第1号創刊。2008年 武蔵野美術大学空間演出デザイン学科教授就任、同年広島市現代美術館 シェルター×サバイバル出展。2009年ミラノ・トリエンナーレ美術館 TOKYO FIBER09出展。現在ART ＩTでブログ連載中。

Born in Saitama 1959, Tsumura won the 52nd Soen Award in 1982. He entered MIYAKE DESIGN STUDIO in 1983.　Tsumura won the 21st Contemporary Japanese Art Exhibition Grand Prix in 1992. He joined Paris collection for the first time in 1994. Tsumura also won the 12th Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix New Face Award and Shiseido Sponsorship Award in 1994. He entered his works for Venice Biennale in 2001, for Japan Architecture and Art Exhibition in 2004, and Israel Museum, for SAFE DESIGN TAKES ON RISK Exhibition at MoMA (The Museum of Modern Art), New York in 2005, for 21_21DESIGN SIGHT Chocolate Exhibition in 2007, for THISPLAY Exhibition (Direction Entry ) in the same year. Tsumura also published FANTASY MODE TO ORDER Portfolio and the first issue of a free paper "FINAL TIMES".　He was appointed to be a professor of "Department of Scenography, Display and Fashion design ", Musashino Art University in 2008, and his works were exhibited in "Shelter x Survival" at Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art in the same year. And entered his works for "TOKYO FIBER 09" at Milano Triennale. His blog is appered in "ARTiT".
